André Heimgartner

André Heimgartner has been a familiar face in the Supercars paddock for ten years, with his recent home-win at Taupo in 2024 showing he’s got plenty more to give.

The Aucklander was racing in cars as early as age 12, competing in the Formula Vee Championship. At 15 years-old, he’d become the youngest driver in the world at the time to win a Formula Ford Championship when he won the 2010-11 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship.

After successfully defending his Formula Ford Championship the following year, Heimgartner would make the jump to tin-tops and compete in the inaugural season of the NZ V8SuperTourer Series.

He’d drive in the series for four years, alongside a Carrera Cup Australia campaign in 2012, before making his Supercars debut in 2014 as a wildcard entry for Super Black Racing at the Bathurst 1000. His performance on debut would lead the team to bring him on full-time for the rest of the year.

The Auckland-native has accumulated an impressive 17 podiums and two wins with multiple teams since his debut. Now driving for Brad Jones Racing, his latest victory was made all the more special by the fact it was in front of a sold-out home crowd at the 2024 ITM Taupo Super400.
