Giltrap Christchurch to Open in Supercar Style

Since 1966, Giltrap Group has been synonymous with bringing the world's most desirable cars to New Zealand; now, Giltrap Group are bringing that automotive magic to the mainland with the opening of Giltrap Christchurch.

The all-new facility in Islington is the stuff of dreams for anyone passionate about cars. It boasts a Certified Bentley Service Centre, Polestar Christchurch and the South Island's most impressive selection of pre-owned luxury vehicles and supercars. The goal was to give Giltrap Christchurch the same character as the now iconic 119GNR building in Auckland's Grey Lynn, where Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have their New Zealand headquarters and the Starship Supercar show was staged.

Proudly 100% New Zealand-owned, Giltrap Group have been staging a growing number of their drive events in the South Island, and the Giltrap Christchurch site offers the ideal base for activities like Bentley's recent Extraordinary Journeys.

The growing popularity of Polestar in the South Island meant the Swedish electric performance brand was integral to the design of the building. The new Polestar Christchurch Test Drive and Handover Centre offers customers the same Polestar experience that has earned the brand a loyal and passionate following around the world. Polestar Christchurch compliments the existing nationwide service network.

Polestar Christchurch will officially launch the all-new Polestar 3 performance SUV to the South Island this weekend, along with the full range of award-winning Polestar 2 models.

This Saturday, Canterbury's car fans are invited to experience the Supercars at the South Island's first-ever Café 66 event as part of the official opening of Giltrap Christchurch. A free entry, family-friendly event, Café 66 runs from 9 am-12 Saturday 4 November, at 491 Waterloo Rd, Islington.

"This is the best way to celebrate the official opening of Giltrap Christchurch, and after the sell-out success of the Starship Supercar Show, it only made sense to bring some of the magic to Christchurch," says Clarke.

A regular highlight of the Auckland Car scene, Café 66 is best described as the Supercar version of the Cars & Coffee style events held worldwide. For their first Café 66, Giltrap Christchurch is also looking to sprinkle a touch of the recent Starship Supercar Show, which saw $100-milllion worth of exotic machinery on display at Giltrap Groups Auckland HQ.
