Jaguar TCS Racing win Formula E Team's World Championship

Jul 22, 2024

Jaguar TCS Racing have won the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship.

The win comes a dramatic season finale E-Prix in London where both of the team’s drivers, Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy, were in contention for the driver’s championship. Ultimately though, neither driver would be successful, but the team ended the season with a record points score of 368.

It is Jaguar’s first World Championship win in motorsport since they won the World Sportscar Championship in 1991.

The Coventry-based luxury automotive brand entered Formula E in 2016. They were strong from the get-go and have finally taken the top prize in what many see as a well-deserved win and a long-time coming.

“Jaguar has a rich racing history, and when we started our Formula E programme back in 2016 we were determined to add to that legacy. To win the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship – the pinnacle of electric racing – is fitting reward for everyone’s hard work and winning mindset.” Said James Barclay, Managing Director of JLR Motorsport and Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal.

The win comes at a period of transition for the Jaguar automotive brand, who are actively phasing out their petrol models as they look to become and all-electric luxury brand by 2025 as part of their ‘Reimagine’ strategy.

Drivers Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy finished second and third respectively in the Drivers’ World Championship.

Jaguar have also won the newly created Manufacturer’s Trophy with 455 points for their I-Type 6 race car that powered Mitch and Nick to a season-total of four wins, 14 podiums, seven fastest laps and four pole positions.
