Audi are giving the e-tron GT its first refresh since the model debuted in 2021, and it’s an update that will make the RS Performance variant the most powerful production Audi ever produced. The e-tron GT will inherit state-of-the-art parts from the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a platform co-developed by Porsche and Audi that underpin cars like the new Porsche Macan and upcoming Audi Q6.

This includes a newly developed electric motor for both the S e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. The motor produces 415kW, and when combined with the RS e-tron GT Performance’s revised front motors, the total power output comes to a staggering 680kW.

This monumental power figure will propel the RS e-tron GT from 0-100km/h in a mind-altering 2.5 seconds.

The S e-tron GT also receives one of these new motors for its rear-axle, for a combined power output of 500kW, and a 0-100km/h time of 3.4 seconds.

Despite the huge increase in power figures across the range, the new rear-axle motor results in the new e-tron GT being 10kg lighter than its predecessor.

Supporting this increased performance is a newly developed air suspension system as standard, featuring 2-chamber/2-valve technology. This will allow drivers to keep the car flat through high-speed bends on-track, then cruise home in comfort.

Big stopping power is provided by new tungsten carbide-coated brake disks, with carbon-ceramic brakes available as an option across the range.

Audi have increased the charging power of the e-tron GT from 270kW to 320kW. This means that if you have access to a high-power charging station (which you won’t in NZ), you’d be able to charge from 10%-80% in 18 minutes, or gain 280km of range in just 10 minutes.

On the outside, the e-tron GT get’s some minor tweaks to the front and rear of the car. This includes more aggressive front bumpers on the RS and RS Performance variants alongside a new colour called Bedford Green, and updated wheel options across the range.

The interior has been tweaked to reflect Audi’s new design language, with a new steering wheel and redesigned seats. There is also a range of new sustainable materials that can be optioned, including Dinamica, which looks and feels like suede but is almost 50% recycled polyester.

Local pricing and specification are yet to be announced.
